Presents results from a study which utilised growing vegetation in a laboratory flume and enabled consideration of a range of growth states and biomechanical properties. Based on this study, funding has been secured from Defra, Chemicals Regulation Directorate (Julie Howarth, julie.howarth@hse.gsi.gov.uk) and Lonza (Dr. Rudolf Scholtz, rudolf.scholtz@lonza.com) to “Evaluate the potential of constructed wetland features for mitigating the impact of pesticide losses from agricultural land” (PS2248, £300k). The results will inform pesticide regulation policy in the UK.
