<20> An extended journal paper selected as a Highlight of the 2nd IEEE Symposium on Biological Visualization (6/20 accepted papers) This work results from 5 year interdisciplinary project with biologists from the University of Edinburgh University and CRX Ltd Dundee, to help biologists understand the genes involved in embryo development. The technique uniquely supports pattern discovery in massive multivariate time series data when the user does not know in advance what to look for and where clustering in statistics misses patterns within the time series. The technique has been applied in visual analytic domains including online games analysis.
