Der öffentliche Vater. Konzeptionen paternaler Souveränität in der deutschen Literatur (1751-1921).
Research on this book began in 2005. This study covers almost two centuries of German literature and history, and interprets an extensive range of canonical texts and theories from a new angle, as well as examining a substantial body of lesser-known aesthetic texts and treatises. With over 500 works cited in the bibliography, the scale of research is considerable. Moreover, the book proposes an innovative theoretical approach to the interface of history and literature.
