Additional information

This paper presented a detailed understanding of the most important deformation mechanism in drystone retaining walls, which had until this paper been poorly understood. The work was carried out as part of an EPSRC funded project (EP/D037565/1) which received major industry support (Network Rail, local authorities including Cornwall, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire County Councils, the County Surveyors Society).
