Additional information

<03>A model of asynchronous event handling had been proposed as part the international standardisation of the Real-Time Specification for Java. On joining the standardisation committee, Wellings researched issues such as the model's real-time properties and (the focus here) how to implement it. This paper, together with several others by Welllings fully define the model and how to implement it, and provide the rigorous basis for its inclusion in the standard. Other papers are published in Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience and the Computer Journal.
