Tsepelin conceived the idea and initiated this first systematic study of sound emission in normal and superfluid He4; he designed the single quartz tuning forks and fork array structures required for the measurements. Tsepelin supervised the measurements and data analysis performed by his student and drafted the paper, for which he is the corresponding author.
