Additional information

This paper represents an application of state-of-the-art of numerical modelling to practical applications of syngas combustion. This EPSRC-funded (EP/G062714/2) research addresses an important aspect of syngas combustion for cleaner energy conversion: effect of fuel variability. The paper includes rigorous validation against experimental data. It has been found that the flame structure and temperature largely depend on the syngas fuel compositions. The work lies in an important area, while the results are novel and complete. The subsequent grant application based on this work has recently been funded by EPSRC (EP/K036750/1), which was ranked the highest by the SUPERGEN bioenergy panel.
