This is the first time that equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was employed to study ZE41, an alloy developed by a UK manufacturer – Magnesium Elektron. The project studied the detailed microstructure evolution upon the ECAP processing and informed MEL’s processing strategy (Dr Paul Lyon, Research Director).
