Graphene oxide for electrochemical sensing applications
Work was on the impedimetric biosensing of antibody-antigen interactions on the surface of graphene oxide. Previous reports on sensing of bio-recognition events required heavy functionalization of support materials such as carbon nanotubes to make them reactive for the binding of electrochemical agents, EDC-NHS. In this work, using the presence of already abundant –COOH groups on the graphene oxide surface, a high sensitivity of the order of 0.67 nM was obtained. The work is important in regards to the novel use of graphene oxide as a support material for bio-recognition. Soin devised and performed the experiments jointly with the -first author.
