Reports a comprehensive investigation into the elastic response of a novel class of composite materials with potential applications in the marine, automotive, aerospace and defence sectors. The fabrication process described here forms the basis of a patent application filed by previous institution (GB2463446 (A)). Also linked to several patent applications and a spin-off company generated by other partners.
