<13> Constructs a new family of error-correcting codes and evaluates their error probability. The results contradict the popular belief that bit elimination, known as puncturing, reduces the bandwidth of coded signals at the expense of significant degradation in error resilience. We demonstrate that our scheme offers a cost-effective means of both improving bandwidth efficiency and enhancing error resilience for future communication systems.
