Additional information

<15>The problem of mining general association rules from data is well-established, and is used to extract information about correlations between attributes in a database. Previous work in association rule mining has tended to rely simply on equality between items; here we present an algorithm to mine general rules, which allows for a broader set of logical operators. This gives the ability to specify ranges of values in data items, which extends the power of the approach considerably. The algorithm is shown to have benefits in terms of both time complexity and memory management, and has good potential for parallelization.
