Additional information

<17>This paper was produced in response to requests for an elaboration of the evaluation methodology created for an earlier, highly cited, IEEE Transactions paper (doi: 10.1109/TKDE.2006.130). Drawing on the best experimental practices from word similarity, it was the only methodology and dataset specifically designed for sentence length semantic similarity until 2012. It was recently described as “the ideal dataset for semantic similarity” (Guo and Diab, 50th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2012).
