Double-weighted statement

This major (over a year in the making) interdisciplinary work combines legal, political, economic and policy analysis to provide a theory of global trade against the background of larger ideas of how economy and justice can be balanced. Global trade, singularly successful in the second half of the twentieth century, is now fractured. Despite promises of great benefits to underdeveloped nations, it has been singularly unsuccessful in eradicating poverty. This book rethinks global trade in the post-industrial age. It argues that global trade can only be understood against political ideas that require reassessment in the age of the "postmodern state."
