Additional information

This was the first paper to systematically compare and explain the differences in results between selected test methods to assess the pozzolanic activity of natural and waste-derived materials. The paper is significant because of the importance of assessing pozzolanic activity in low-carbon alkali-activated cements and in the use of secondary cementitious materials in new cements. The research has been utilised by both academic and industrial researchers and has led to further international collaborative research (doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2013.01.031, doi.org/10.1016/j.jhazmat.2011.08.081, doi.org/10.1016/j.cemconcomp.2009.09.002).
