Double-weighted statement

This is a 253 page book of approximately 125,000 words. It is a history of American Art as well as a study of contemporary art practices. It is co-authored and has 7 chapters. I was responsible for at least 50% of the text and responsible for the Introduction and chapters 3, 5, 6 and 7. The book’s claim to innovation lies in its interdisciplinary base that examines popular as well as avant-garde work and, atypically for a book on American Art, looks in the margins (such as printmaking) to broaden an understanding of the ways that American art developed historically.
