Additional information

<28>Age is a significant risk factor for death, especially when combined with physiological derangement. This paper investigates the effect of age in combination with physiological derangement to better characterise its effect and help decide if age should be a component of an EWS at the risk of disadvantaging younger patients. This paper analyses a dataset formed by the integration of VitalPAC data (vital signs captured at the point of care) with the hospital Patient Administration System which contains mortality at discharge, age, gender etc. An essential precursor to Prytherch1 above.
