<20> This article addresses the open question of how multidimensional and multimodal tomographic data may be visualized. This article was published in the prestigious Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A and presents a case study on the visualization of (spatial–temporal–spectral) brain electrical impedance tomography data. Original representations for a task based model (the Cubic Task Explorer) to support visualization task exploration, and a structured method for visualization system development (Task-based Multi-Dimensional Visualization) are presented. The work formed the basis of the successful PhD thesis of Zhang who is now a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester.
