Additional information

The paper reports on a major programme of EPSRC funded work exploring the behaviour of seasonally frozen soils and permafrost. The results presented have been achieved as a result of a collaborative programme of work with Earth Science colleagues. Both numerical and physical (centrifuge) model development have been accomplished. Applications to a number of physical configurations are presented, yielding a range of results that examine the influence of freeze/thaw conditions on slope stability under peri-glacial conditions.
