International collaboration. Filled the gap as no commercial monolithic instrumentation amplifiers can meet the high common-mode rejection requirement at high frequencies for wideband bioimpedance spectroscopy, applied to cancer diagnostics. Led to a British Council Research Exchange Programme Award between UCL and the Mahanakorn Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a collaborative Impact Acceleration Award with Zilico Ltd (www.zilico.co.uk, Dr Peter Highfield, Technical Director) to develop a microsystem capable of being mounted in clinical tools for use as an adjunct to biopsy. The new technology will provide virtually instant results during surgical procedures and help in the identification of cancer margins.
