Energy Optimal Control of Servo-Pneumatic Cylinders Through Nonlinear Static Feedback Linearization
The method reported can be used to guide the control strategy design to minimise energy usage, which has led to a number of research projects. For example, improving car body electronic system energy efficiency in collaboration with JLR (Alexandros Mouzakitis, Technical Specialist, amouzak1@jaguarlandrover.com) and optimising power plant operation in collaboration with Emerson Process Management (Loic Charbonneau, UK Sales & Marketing Director, loic.charbonneau@emerson.com). Recently, the method has formed one of the major work packages in EPSRC funded project “Flexible and Efficient Power Plant: Flex-E-Plant” (EP/K020195), which has gained the funding support of £2M from EPSRC and £3.7M from the Industrial Partners.
