Additional information

This work was performed in collaboration with the University of Kent under the EU-FP7 programme on a project entitled “NACBO”. This is the first report on the incorporation of super-paramagnetic nanoparticles inside the pore walls of a hierarchically ordered porous silica matrix (original UK patent with ICI Synetix) for efficient use as a magnetic support for enzyme catalysis. This work has already created an impact in the area of Green chemistry (Green Chem., 2011, 13, 1317), Separation science (J. Chromatography, 2011, 1218, 6232) and Energy (Appl. Microbiol. Biotechnol. 2013, 97, 23).
