Acceleration feedback control of human-induced floor vibrations
This paper presented a new control law specifically developed for active control of human-induced vibrations in floor structures and its application in the offices of WSP (major international civil engineering consultancy), who collaborated in this research during an EPSRC KTA Industrial Fellowship awarded to Reynolds. WSP continue to support of a number of EPSRC projects (EP/H009825/1, EP/H009825/1 and Industrial CASE 08002020 - contact jeremy.wells@wspgroup.com). Once the active vibration control technology is commercialised, WSP expect to enhance their design processes to facilitate more efficient structures that will still meet stringent vibration serviceability criteria.
