Electric field induced crystallization in phase-change materials for memory applications
First ever kinetic study of field induced crystallisation to investigate the nature of the electrically‐driven amorphous to crystalline transition in phase‐change memory devices (which is currently a subject of intense debate and controversy). Carried out as part of “Optical investigation of non-thermal processes in phase change materials” £640K EPSRC research project (EP/F015046/1). Research for this paper has already led to numerous invited presentations (e.g. European Phase Change and Ovonics Symposium, Milan, 2010; International Conference on Optical, Optoelectronic and Photonic Materials and Applications, Budapest, 2010; International School on Condensed Matter Physics, Varna, 2010).
