Additional information

<20> This full conference paper reports on findings from the initial stage of a program of research exploring the implications of the difference between cognitive styles in HCI education and practice. The second stage, expected to finish in 2014, is studying style differences between HCI educators and practitioners. Overall findings will inform a proposal for an HCI curriculum sensitive to the predominant styles of student groups situated in different cultures and disciplines, e.g. engineering, design, psychology, and is mindful of the potential skill gaps between education and practice.
