Additional information

This paper follows from paper 2 and presents experimental work which confirmed the predictions of the model. The experimental work was carried out a PhD student, sponsored by the EU Alβan programme (which supports students from South America to study in the EU). In this work the voltage at various points during the tests was measured and found to agree with the predictions of the model. The paper concludes that the classical Nernst-Plank equation can be used to describe the migration provided the distortion of the field is accounted for.
