Flexural Toughness of Concrete with High Performance Polymers
Flexural toughness is a measure of energy absorption capacity and characterization of the ability of a material to resist fracture under flexure loads. This research has investigated the use of high performance polymeric fibres as a cost-effective and lightweight material which also fits well into the modern era of sustainable construction compared with steel fibres. The research results were adopted by the long-term research sponsor, Propex Concrete Systems, to develop their new generation of fibres currently used in the construction market worldwide.
