This paper presents new developments in multi-phase well testing problems using numerical well testing techniques. In reservoir modelling, fluid heterogeneities are rarely considered, particularly in the field of well testing. This new research will encourage and enhance further study in this area. After publication, the paper was recognised by an ENI (Italian National Oil Company) award in 2012.
