Double-weighted statement

The culmination of a lifetime’s work, developed and matured into a final, coherent exegesis, as Oliver explains in its preface. Seminal ideas incorporated in the book began in 1981 (MA thesis), evolved into a monograph (1998) and several chapters in edited volumes, each adding a new layer of knowledge and understating. It took the majority of Oliver’s research time to bring together all the disparate strands into a coherent whole underpinned by appropriate theoretical frameworks. The book was, additionally, written in parallel with another publication linked to the exhibition of Taino materials in Spain (not submitted to REF).
