The Paper Museum of Cassiano dal Pozzo, Series A, vol. X, Renaissance and Later Architecture and Ornament
The book, first and foremost, provides a comprehensive catalogue of the architectural and architecture-related drawings (numbering 306) once forming part of the famous ‘Paper Museum’ belonging to Cassiano dal Pozzo. Most drawings have not been previously published, even though many of them are housed in the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. It includes many new discoveries – drawings by or associated with Michelangelo, Raphael (a rare autograph sheet), Perino del Vaga, Serlio (14 sheets) and many other leading architects (Tibaldi, Bernini, Vignola etc.), as well as drawings relating to major projects including St Peter’s, the Palazzo Te in Mantua and the Palace of Charles V in Granada.
This is a large scale 800+ page project involving a comprehensive catalogue of 306 architectural and architecture-related drawings coupled with a substantial 20,000 word introduction.
