Additional information

<28> This paper presents an innovative wrist-wearable sensor for monitoring of the elderly and those requiring passive care. The developed hardware platform and signal processing method were reported. Due to the high dimension and nonlinearity of the collected sensor data, a classifier with a dimension reduction technique is proposed for robust behaviour recognition of the wearer. Experiments verified that the proposed classifier outperforms conventional classifiers in its one-pass training and with higher distinguishing capability. This system has become an Ambient Assisted Living product of iMonSys Ltd. Jiang was Principal Investigator of this project and supervised the first author’s PhD thesis.
