Additional information

The development of novel radio resource allocation schemes is crucial for cellular orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems and this paper reflects Kent’s unique contribution to this topic. In this paper, grouping subcarriers in the chunk-based resource allocation scheme is proposed for the first time. This novel scheme demonstrates a significant reduction in the complexity of the resource allocation, while approaching optimal performance. Participation in the FP7 project: “User-centric wireless local loops” (ULOOP, no. 257418) (www.uloop.eu) which has 11 European partners followed. The new scheme has been implemented in the ULOOP pilot.
