Additional information
Windup is undesirable phenomenon in controllers that occurs when output saturates; this causes some controller states to keep increasing in magnitude to no good effect. Paper proposes novel anti-windup framework that improves disturbance-rejection performance when compared with original approach (Weston & Postlethwaite, Automatica, 36, 1347–1354, 2000). New method is applied to control of dynamically sub-structured systems, which are known to be accuracy-sensitive to problems of control-signal saturation and windup.
