The biomechanical effectiveness of prophylactic vertebroplasty: A dynamic cadaveric study: Laboratory investigation
Delivered through an Action Medical Research Grant (AP 1028) with DePuy Spine as partners Led to two major international collaborations through a prestigious EU Marie Curie ITN (SpineFX – 238690, €3M, 2009-13 - RMH Coordinator/PI – www.spinefx.eu, 3 leading EU Universities (including ETH Zurich) and 3 SMEs) and an EPSRC investigation of vertebroplasty for treating multiple myeloma with Dr Whyne (cari.whyne@sunnybrook.ca), University Toronto (EPSRC - EP/H013385/1 £596K – RMH PI, Industrial partner, Arthrocare SE). Formed the basis for several consultancies with DePuy Spine, Inion SE, Arthrocare SE and Apatech Ltd, total value>£120K . Led to invited presentations (GRIBOI, Uppsala 2012, ABC7, Brisbane 2009).
