Additional information

This paper was the first to show that by applying a novel interferometric method and a novel numerical analysis, it is possible to measure a complete two dimensional refractive index profile of a channel waveguide with the minimum of sample preparation and with no assumptions concerning the form of the profile. It has recently been cited in a review of interferometry: Fringe analysis: Premise and perspectives (R Gannavarpu; R Pramod) Optics and Lasers in Engineering Vol.50, No. 8 (Special Issue).
