Additional information

This paper is an output from the EPSRC funded PV21 SUPERGEN consortium (EP/F029624/1). This paper reports the first use of chamber pressure to control the size of cadmium telluride thin film grain size during closed space sublimation deposition. The paper identifies a potentially important method of enhancing solar cell performance that resulted from a Durham- Northumbria investigation. The value of the research was demonstrated by the award of a patent (PCT/GB2007/001698) and its subsequent sale to the US company, Abound Solar Inc.
