Additional information

This paper reports the world-record result in visible light communications (VLC) at the time it is published. The paper demonstrates a novel and efficient VLC system with much reduced complexity, which outperforms existing VLC techniques. This work was funded by Samsung and contributed to the Task-Group 7 of IEEE-802.15 standardization in VLC. The presentation of the work is at (https://mentor.ieee.org/802.15/documents, select TG7, presentations of meetings in Taipei, Orlando, Denver and Dallas (2008)). This work led to a successful EU-FP7 cLINK grant (http://clink-edu.eu/index.html, under “Engineering and Technology” theme, 2M Euro)
