Additional information

The paper presents the world-record results in indoor optical wireless system at the time of publication. It is the result from EU-FP7 OMEGA project (http://www.ict-omega.eu/) including 20 EU companies and Universities. The results have demonstrated the success of establishing the wireless communications landscape for future European houses. The work led to a 6-month extension of OMEGA project. It helped to obtain the Samsung GRO award (USD150k) (“Ultra-high Data Rate Optical Wireless: towards the All-optical Network”, http://www.sait.samsung.co.kr/saithome/Page.do?method=main&pagePath=01_about/&pageName=2012gro). After OMEGA, the results contributed to a number of technical workshops (France Telecoms, EPSRC-sponsored OWC), conferences (ICTON, GLOBECOM, SPIE) and EU-FP7 COST-ACTION IC1101.
