Additional information

A new gain-scheduling output feedback synthesis is presented. It is a natural extension of the highly successful loop shaping design procedure of McFarlane and Glover to parameter dependent systems. The underlying theory is technically challenging. Important analysis results are derived leading to a practical synthesis. The approach has subsequently been used within the Anglo-French Innovation and Technology Partnership between the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and DGA (part of the French MoD). The work has been applied to the Meteor missile being developed by MBDA Systems (David Vorley, Dave.Vorley@mbda-systems.com, and Graham Wallis, Graham.Wallis@mbda-systems.com).
