Additional information
For the first time liquid crystalline cylometallated Ir(III) complexes have been created. These compounds are of great interest in the field of organic light emitting diodes since they address simultaneously luminescent and morphology issues of the thin-films. This work is part of the follow-up EPSRC grant (EP/H006710/1) in collaboration with CNRS at Strasbourg, Durham University and University of York. The results were patented (EP2547748 A1).
