Additional information

Hydropyrolysis at Nottingham was the crucial technique to yield the molecular signature which identified demosponges, representing the oldest evidence for animals in the fossil record (>635Myr ago). This contributed to the uptake of the techniques by many laboratories, including commercial sales of 6 systems by our partner company, Strata (Andre Van Daele andrev@stratatec.co.uk).
