The accuracy of Electrical Capacitance Tomography instrumentation as a mass flow meter for solids in pneumatic conveying is shown for the first time. It was also shown that, even when the pneumatic conveying system was misbehaving, the mass flow rate and its variations could still be tracked quantitatively.
