Arising from this paper and associated work on nano-laser dynamics ( Shore, Electronic Letts. 46,1688-1689, 2010), undertaken during the tenure of a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Invitation Fellowship at the *Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), a collaboration on nano-laser design was initiated in 2013 with the School of Engineering, Swansea University. The recent appointment at Bangor of Nezhad, who will maintain links with UC San Diego, offers a route to realization of nano-laser designs.
