Additional information

Further development of this work has been enabled via the EC-FP7-ICT-2007-1 IP-project “Architectures for Flexible Photonic Home and Access Networks” ,’Alpha’ - €987K to Bangor (2008-2011) and has led to demonstrations of a series of OOFDM transceivers at record high speeds using off-the-shelf and low-bandwidth components (ECOC2013, P.6.7.5). Recognition of the opportunities created by this work was made by the award to Tang of a Royal Society Brian Mercer Feasibility Award (£30k) in 2008. This work has also contributed to the promotion of OOFDM to the IEEE802.3bm 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s task force group as standards (http://www.ieee802.org/3/400GSG/public/index.html).
