The devices were provided by Philips (Eindhoven) and measurements made by Gomes’ group in Portugal. Taylor provided a significant part of the analytical and theoretical input. On seeing the final manuscript draft prepared by Gomes and Taylor, co-author de Leeuw (formerly Philips now at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Munich) commented that ‘you have solved a longstanding problem’. Although this and output 13.3 are relevant to on-going research into switching processes in resistive RAMs, they represented an important contribution to the Philips’ driven programme for identifying failure mechanisms in Organic LEDs.
