Additional information

The devices were provided by Philips (Eindhoven) and measurements made by Gomes’ group in Portugal. Taylor’s expertise was used to develop the model that explained the admittance measurements on polymer RRAMs, from which it was concluded that device behaviour was non-uniform – switching being associated with ~20% of the electrode area. This was an unexpected result for the process engineers at Philips. The concept of capacitive switching prior to resistive switching was new and picked up by others (2010 Organic Electronics 11 1141), including the use of equivalent circuit representations of such devices.
