A computationally efficient software application for calculating vibration from underground railways
Significance of output:
This paper presented version 4 of the only available freeware for calculating vibration from underground railways, see (www.pipmodel.com). Since the release of version 4 in September 2009, more than 200 people have downloaded software. The monitoring of downloads is done via an electronic form on the download-webpage. More than 60 of the users have communicated with the developers regarding the usage of the software and its technical details. The users range from practicing engineers and consultants to researchers with interests in railway noise and vibration. The users are distributed geographically with majority from the UK, Europe, Australia and Chine.
