Additional information

<01>Originality: Compared with conventional models, this paper presents novel and considerably more accurate mathematical models for the quantizer in bandpass sigma-delta modulators circumventing the need to perform computationally intensive and laborious simulations.

Significance: The proposed models are straightforward to apply and can be easily integrated into the design process for any type of bandpass sigma-delta modulator. These modulators achieve high-precision data conversion for narrow-band high-frequency signals in wireless communications systems and phased-array ultrasound imaging applications.

Rigour: Mathematical analyses support all the major findings of this research. Results published in a leading, peer-reviewed journal.
