The first study to report the chemical and physical effects of hot embossing on tissue culture treated polystyrene, and the subsequent impact on cell adhesion, proliferation and angiogenesis. The research underpinning the paper has led directly to a patent application (PCT/GB2012/051845), has received internal proof of principle funding, a Design Council (Innovate for Universities) award in 2011-12 and an award under the Proof of Concept scheme (2012-13) from InvestNI (PoC 305 VasculoGuide).
