Additional information

<23>This paper presents a novel domain and a novel pattern recognition scheme, and demonstrates how, for face recognition, it is notably more robust to noise than standard techniques. The technique is one of several novel contributions in robust face recognition at ECIT which have led to interest from, and collaboration with, the NIH team in the USA who are developing the Lost Person Finder for tracing individuals from photographs after natural disasters such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
